it was a wonderful feeling that I could come back Lijiang after 6 years and celebrated Chinese New Year there with my old frriends. It was sunny, warm,with cristal clear blue sky every day and most importtant still, I could watch snow-capped Jade-Dragon peak in such a close distance.

firecrackers were indispensible for the celebration of the New Year, and with red laterns.

The most important, friends are together.

Bags seller crying out in falsetto

a cheap bags seller in Dazhalan area in the center of Beijing was crying out for selling his bags to passing by people in a strange falsetto. It is funny to hear he swearing with aquaintance in his real voice.

in Falsetto: big bags and small bags, all 10 Yuan, have a look inside...

In real voice: Oh it is you the motherfucker.....

A praying family

behind the Sangyu Church is a small hill on which top a virgin mary statue decorated with plastic flowers. During my last 3 time visits, i met few pilgrims coming here, might because we just made a short visit here on saturday. But this time when we got on the top courtyard, we saw a family kneed on the step before the Virgin Mary statue and were praying in low voices and sang later songs in Chinese.

The father sent his son come to the upper steps and let him led others praying. I wonder he could remember that much words. From their accent i guess they from other provinces. From the top of the hill, i could birdview the whole village. It is a quiet, isolated place surrounded by mountains and good for learning doctrines and reflect oneself.

St. Michael's Church, locates in the Dongjiaominxiang street where once was the foreign embassies area during time of the late Qing-dynasty and the Beiyang republican administration in the beginning of the last century.

It was built in 1901 under the supevision of a french pastor. It was the last catholic church built in Beijing.

圣米厄尔天主堂位于东交民巷与台基厂大街交叉路口东北处，，它供奉的是天神米厄尔，所以称为圣米厄尔教堂。该教堂始建于1901年，落成于1904年，创建者是法国传教士高司铎，是外国人在北京修建的最后一座天主堂。

Like any old cities in China, Fuzhou also has its traditional living areas with old style houses and the lanes which like a net. several families live in a big quartyard which blonged to a single rich family before.

Like other places in this provice, people are quite religious to different gods. They believe not only in the main religions but also in various local gods and nearly in every lane you could find a little shrine with burning cadles and incense.

The gods they worship could be a normal person in the past who contributed the society and did a significant favor to neighbours.

Sangyu catholic church locates in the village of Sangyu in the mountainous area in western Beijing. Our car turned away from the national road 109 to direction of Lingshui and in just 2 km we arrived this village.

Trough a arch gate with a tower on the top , we already saw the spire behind the houses at the foot of a small hill. It is a quite village, as most vistors pass by the village and drive to its neighbor village with many peasants' guesthouse where people from the urban could taste the simple rural way of cooking.

But I like this village more and this was my 4th visit here. The people in this village are all cathlic. It is said that there were missionaries who came to here to preach early in the 14th century when Beijing under mongol regime. The church was destroyed during cultural revolution and was rebuilt in 1987.

Inside the church on the prayer's bench are bibles and missals, a old lady was praying in silence in the church and kindly told me to read more introduction of the church outside. I think on sunday there would be more people coming for mass. It is very impressive to go up hill behind the church on which top a iron cross and a beautiful virgin mary statue decorated with plastic flowers.

Honeycomb Briquette seller 胡同卖煤工

Honeycomb briquettes are traditional heating material for many people living in the big courtyards shared with other families in Beijing's Hutong(lane) areas.

When winter comes, people starts to set up the ovens themselves with tinplate funnels. I still remember the time when we lived in such courtyard in my childhood, we also had tow ovens burning these kinds of briquettes. To build up the funnel is actually very professional work, since the oven locates in the living room, you have to be very carefully to seal the joints of every tinplate funnels. Every night before go to bed you envelop hearth correctly, make sure there will be no CO leakage and also keep the coal burning to warm the room. Every winter season you could hear some reports on CO toxicosis caused by briquette oven.

The coals are mostly from western mountain areas of Beijing and it is made into the form of honeycomb to achieve more air for burning in the hearth. In different city blocks there are small briquette manufactories and the salesmen ride on a trike through the Hutongs and pile the briquettes on the platform and selling them dirently to doors. Their faces are always smeared black with the coal and remind me always on the Peking opera actors who draw patterns on faces for showing the characteristics of the figures.

"The first class fragrance" Bathhouse which in Chinese “一品香澡堂”was once a very famous and beloved place for people to come and enjoy their leisure time before 1949 in Beijing, China.

It located in the traditonal Hutong area south to the Tiananmen square which was a entertaining area in old Beijing with many famous restaurents, theatres for Peking Opera, bathhouses and many brothels as well.

After 1949, brothels were shut down and many old houses and courtyard lived by ordinary people. Now this traditional living area is being demolished and will be rebuilt in some way.

The arch door was the only visible ruin of the bathhouse and people could only imagine that here once were many celebrities passing by.

窗外的烟花

小时候的放炮仗的情景离开已经太久了，转眼是三个轮回，又是本命年了。前两个本命年如何度过的，已经模糊了，虽然我总是为自己超K金级的记忆而自豪。81年，一个很不前不后的年代，小学还没毕业，只记得82年是在西班牙的世界杯赛；93年，又是个不咸不淡的年代，只记得92年是自己大学毕业的年代，还有就是巴塞罗那的奥运会，巧了，记得的赛事都在西班牙。

既然本命年这么容易遗忘，那就写下来吧。现在已经是无线联络的年代了，没有收到一张纸做的新年贺卡，反而是手机不断收到被大家转发了无数次的那些乏味的祝贺短信，而且都是群发，除了少数人，坚决不回，我还是坚持原创！

零点前的时刻，我突然想起了老李，在丽江的朋友，每次去都是住他那里。想来一别都三年没见了，这些年的日子啊。。。发生了这许多事，可老李的声音还是一样。上一次通电话也是有2年多了，虽然不常通话，但心里明白，这是很深的朋友。

接电话的是他的小儿子小林，我一下就听出来了。老李听到我报上名字后，没有多大的惊异，但我清楚他没想到我会来电话。他是传统的云南人，更确切地说，是纳西人，有教养，内敛不事张扬自己的情感。他一下就问，“这两年怎么没有过啊？”，我能说什么呢，只能说工作压力啊。他笑了笑，“我猜也是的。你。。过的怎么样？”

“我过的还不错。” 城市生活不也就这样么，我心里暗想，不比他那里的天高淡。

“还养鹰没有？”，我很关心这个的，他肯定也了解。

“有，养了一只黄鹰。” 黄鹰是他们称呼雌鹰用的，雌鹰个头比雄的大，打猎的时候比更好用，当然价格也贵。老李早就想有一只黄鹰，看来他的生活很有起色。有了黄鹰后，收获还不错，他说今年捕到不少山鸡。我想起我们三年前的6次放鹰，前几次都是无获，但大家还是一样的兴奋和快乐。架着鹰，牵着狗，临崖而立，下面是穿山过岭，缓缓流淌的金沙江水。。。笑看桃花，曾经如此从容地拥有时间。

我问他明天是否还去拜山，他说要去的。拜山的意思就是上坟，那是他母亲的坟，他花了500元买下城外的一块山坡。那年我曾跟他们一大家族去拜山，大家带着吃的，喝的，牵着狗去爬山，只有很近朋友才会被邀请同去。还记得老李独自坐在母亲的坟旁的松树下沉思的瞬间。
也许是正赶在除夕晚大家电话拜年的时刻，老李的话不多，最后只说了句，“欢迎你来哦！”。我仿佛又看到了我们那年一起吃纳西杂菜火锅时的场景，透过腾起的蒸汽是老李，老许他们一张张被高原的阳光照顾过的脸庞。

我打开窗子，透着子夜的料峭的风，一点点烟花在黑夜中闪耀，象是自己这些年来的那些记忆，它们又回来了。
